Some female prisoners have rioted in Chikurubi protesting against what they said was an unfair justice system.
The women sang protest songs throughout the night. They were also protesting against abuse by prison guards. Riot cops had to be called into the jail to quell the protest. According to Tajamuka, seven female prisoners have been put into solitary confinement. Female prisoners still on remand were today denied visitors.
